Overview Accurately identifying, assessing, and controlling hazards is an essential part of a properly functioning health and safety management program. This course is designed to assist employers, managers, supervisors and workers improve the safety on their worksites by learning and implementing effective methods of hazard identification, risk assessment and controls. Learning Objectives The learning objectives for this course are: Who should participate in the hazard assessment process. Define health hazard & safety hazards Identify, select and implementation of appropriate controls. Who should take this course? Anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of workplace health and safety. Key staff. As part of the Hospitality Safety Leadership Certificate program, key staff are required to participate and successful complete the course in order to meet the program requirements for Level 2. Auditors in Training. As part of the Certificate of Recognition program, this course is a prerequisite for the Auditor Training course. ***The Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Controls course is considered the foundation course for many of the health and safety courses offered by AHSA.*** Course Prerequisite There are no prerequisites recommended for this course. Duration: 8 hours Please note: It is expected that all students will actively participate in the discussion and in class exercises to ensure that an understanding and learning objectives for the course are achieved. Minimum passing grade is 80%.
